About the instructor:
Thomas Mawora is an applied statistician and committed educator with a strong focus on teaching statistical concepts and practical data analysis using R. He is dedicated to building capacity in quantitative methods by supporting students and professionals in understanding statistical modelling, data interpretation, and reproducible research practices. His work spans academic and applied settings, where he integrates real-world datasets from sectors such as public health and agriculture into his teaching. He has contributed to research and development initiatives, including USAID-supported programs, applying statistical methods to inform decision-making while mentoring others in data analysis.
Cameline N. Orlendo is an Infectious Disease Modeller at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute in Basel, Switzerland. Her work focuses on applying mathematical and statistical modelling to support National Malaria Control Programmes across malaria-endemic countries. She has extensive experience in analysing large-scale simulation studies, integrating diverse datasets, and translating complex modelling outputs into actionable insights for policy and decision-making.
Cameline is also actively involved in capacity strengthening, delivering technical training and workshops in infectious disease modelling and data analysis.
