About the instructor:

Dr. Adilson José de Pina is a public health specialist in monitoring and evaluation. He is Executive Secretary of the Coordination Committee for the Fight Against AIDS (CCS-SIDA) in Cabo Verde. He has more than 15 years of experience leading work on disease control, health systems strengthening and research. He has contributed to Cabo Verde's malaria elimination, HIV, tuberculosis and vector-borne disease programmes.

He holds a PhD in Public Health from Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, where his research focused on malaria epidemiology and elimination in Cabo Verde. He also holds a Master's in Medical and Veterinary Entomology. He has served as Principal Investigator on international projects with partners including the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He is also an Associate Researcher at Cabo Verde's National Institute of Public Health and mentors young public health professionals.

Internationally, he co-chairs the Data Use Committee of the RBM Partnership's Surveillance, Monitoring and Evaluation Working Group.
